Journal on World Affairs, UCLARose Becker is a fourth year Political Science Major and Environmental Systems and Society Minor. Rose plans on attending law school after graduating from UCLA and has enjoyed serving as a reader for multiple Political Science courses at UCLA. In the future, Rose hopes to work in Constitutional Law and her ultimate dream would be to serve on the Supreme Court.
Do strict photo ID laws have a disproportionate negative impact on the voter turnout of African Americans? Considering the nonexistence of voter fraud, the patterns of voter ID legislation, and the public remarks on voter ID laws, this paper showcases how voter ID laws are nothing more than partisan motivated tactics of targeted voter suppression.
