Shuyi (Sophia) Li
Shuyi (Sophia) Li is an undergraduate at the University of California, Los Angeles studying Political Science and Economics. She was born in China and lived between there and Canada until she moved to the United States for high school. Growing up in a nondemocratic country opened her eyes to the importance of preserving and promoting rule of law and political freedom and drove her to pursue a J.D. Shuyi’s multicultural background also fueled her interest in international relations, particularly US-China relations. In addition to JWA, Shuyi is a staff writer for BruinLife, a Special Projects Committee member of Lawyers Without Borders-UCLA, and a research assistant for Dr. Leap from the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs and Dr. Bailey from the UCLA Department of Economics.
